Reflection:

I decided for my illusion, to create a void using a black bedsheet, a carboard box and a small black notebook inside to keep the sheet from draping. I've done something similar in the past but only using a dark room, which doesn't give your that perfect pitch black. I used my phone light and had it sit on the top of the box over the figure, with half the light cut off with the box so that the light was more controlled. In turn I got some good, dramatic pictures of the figure dancing.
