The image is successful because it allows you to feel like you're viewing the monument from a realistic angle. The shadows allow you to view its complexity without being overwhelmed. The sky helps frame it, being a light vibrant blue as apposed to the shadowed neutral colors of the tower. The subtle orange color of the tower's brown coat allows it to contrast with the sky. The curve of the tower leg closest to you draws your eye to the tower's center. The image is succesful because it uses a simple range in color allows you to view its complexity while not being overwhelmed.

Reflection:

I am happy with how these came out, I have a good balance (in the pictures of Julia) of her and the sky around her framing her. I had her stand on a fire hydrant so I could get lower shots and it worked well, getting points of view that would've felt cramped otherwise.
